CARE launches fresh new election sites
CARE are delighted to launch brand new websites providing up-to-date information to help Christians think, act, and pray as they prepare to vote in the upcoming Scottish and Welsh elections.
Engage26
Using our vote is an important way for Christians to engage in politics. But many people will be confused about what different parties believe about various issues, and how to vote in a wise and prayerful way.
For this reason, CARE is excited to launch Engage26, providing two tailored websites: one for the Scottish Parliament elections, and one for the elections to the Welsh Senedd. The Welsh election site is also available in Welsh as well as English.
Each site is packed with videos, articles, and prayer materials, along with run-downs of parties’ manifestos, hustings, and interviews with Christian candidates to help inform your thinking. There are also helpful Biblical insights for Christians to think through why voting matters as a follower of Jesus.
Interactive quiz
CARE is also thrilled to launch the Engage26 Interactive Quiz, building on work pioneered in the last General Election. Now updated for the Scottish and Welsh elections, the Engage26 Quiz allows you identify the policies that are most important to you, and get advice to help you as you prepare to vote.
CARE is politically neutral, and will not tell you how to vote or who to vote for. However, the Engage26 sites give important insights into the issues that are most important, and how much the main parties are in alignment with them.
CARE CEO Ross Hendry, said: “At CARE, we are always encouraging the church to be engaged and involved in elections. It is a huge privilege to live in a democracy and cast our vote. Our Engage 26 site builds on our decades long reputation for equipping, engaging and empowering the church across the UK at election times. From manifesto analysis, to interviews with candidates from different parties, our prayer is that the site will help Christians in Scotland and Wales decide who to vote for.”
