Security guards suspended for removing men from female only toilets

Butlin’s has suspended security staff after five men who identify as women were reportedly "violently ejected" from the women's toilets during a music event at its Skegness resort.

The incident occurred on 5 October during the Bang Face festival.

Butlin's expressed concern and launched an investigation, stating that their security contractor failed to follow proper procedures – the suspended guards are no longer on duty.

JK Rowling has commented on the situation, questioning Butlin’s stance on women-only spaces. She posted on X, “Does Butlins think the desire of cross-dressing men to enter women-only spaces is more important than women's and girls' right to privacy and dignity? Hopefully Butlins will explain their policy, so women and families can make an informed choice about where to go on holiday.”

The company reassured the public it remains committed to "inclusivity" as the story continues to attract attention online.
