The Queen's Platinum Jubilee began on 6 February 2022, celebrating 70 years since she acceded to the throne. A four-day bank holiday will run from 2-5 June, with more than 16,000 street parties planned.

To help marks the occasion, below you'll find some specific prayers that will help us give thanks to God for the decades of public service the Queen has given.

But first here's a quote from the Queen when she entered public service.

God commands us to pray for those in authority over us (1 Timothy 2:1-4). This prayer simply thanks God for the Queen's example of servant leadership.

The Queen is also head of state for 14 Commonwealth nations and is known to care deeply about this unique collection of nations. This prayer gives thanks to God for her leadership and her integrity.

In her Christmas messages over recent years, the Queen has spoken very openly about her faith in the Lord Jesus. This prayer asks God to deepen her knowledge of Him as she reads His word and prays.

We can also pray that as churches open their doors on Sunday 5 June that many from communities will come and hear about the King of Kings, the Lord Jesus, who has an even greater authority than Queen Elizabeth.
