A group of Christian Ministers have spoken out about the goodness of God's design and plan for marriage, sexuality and identity and have launched the Greater Love Declaration.

Authored by many of the same people who last year wrote to the UK Government about the threat of conversion therapy legislation that would infringe on regular church activities like preaching, counselling, prayer and pastoring.

The Greater Love Declaration is a series of eight statements which pastors, vicars, rectors, church leaders and pastoral workers are being encouraged to sign, along with pastoral workers.

Among those endorsing the Declaration are Sam Allberry, Pastor at Immanuel church in Nashville. He said:

In the background notes, the group recognise that Christian teaching on marriage, identity and sexuality has been under huge pressure for decades, with some now even arguing it is harmful.

But the love Jesus introduced to the world was greater than any other. It is a self-denying, self-sacrificial love that Jesus demonstrated.

When applies to sex, marriage and identity, it is a radical ethic which rejects self-satisfaction and self-fulfillment and honours the wisdom of God's word.
