CARE's longstanding work in calling for a fully transferable marriage tax allowance was referenced in a piece by the editor of Conservative Home. Paul Goodman was arguing that the Prime Minister should take more risks in supporting marriage through public policy. He mentioned CARE's arguments about the need for a bigger marriage tax break and highlighted a recent piece by our Chief Executive Nola Leach for Conservative Home. Nola said that to properly compensate families who will miss out under Universal Credit, the government should expand the marriage tax allowance to ease the pressure on families.
