Pastoring the dying: An online seminar

17 March 2026 - 14:00 - 17:00

Online training for church leaders on pastoral responses to assisted suicide

As the assisted suicide legislation progresses through Parliament, more and more church leaders find themselves called into conversations that carry immense weight. This session will equip you to lead and pastor with confidence, wisdom, and clarity through the complex pastoral challenges ahead.

Join CARE on Tuesday 17 March 2026 from 14:00–17:00 (GMT) via Zoom for focused training designed to equip you - whether you lead a congregation, serve on a pastoral team, or mentor someone walking a difficult journey. Our speakers bring legislative insight, real-life pastoral experience and practical case studies from Canada to help you guide with wisdom and love.

  • James Mildred (CARE) will provide an update on current legislation.
  • Lucy Honeysett (Christians in Care) will share insights from her years as a palliative care nurse and her work supporting Christian carers.
  • Larry Worthen (Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship, Canada) will draw on his experience from Canada to present real-life pastoral scenarios, giving practical guidance for walking with individuals and families facing end-of-life decisions

The session will include time for reflection, discussion and Q&A so you can engage with the speakers and begin applying these insights in your own ministry. This event is open to all interested Christians within any leadership position and all pastoral team members.
