At CARE in Northern Ireland, we want to be a people who uphold human dignity and support the most vulnerable in society through engaging with politicians in the Northern Irish Assembly. In our efforts to have a voice for love and truth in society, we see the local Church playing a pivotal role.
To this end, we endeavour to equip and resource Church leaders, and their congregations, to be effective light and salt, whether it be through engagement with their local MLAs or through grassroots initiatives to minister to those affected by these issues in their communities.

Because of the kingdom of God, we are persuading society to be:
One that protects and respects unborn babies, whilst supporting women.
Free from the chains of prostitution and modern slavery.
Free to express faith.
Protected from the dangers of gambling related harms.
To help these values flourish in our society we help local churches and Christians engage Northern Irish society in the following ways:
Lobbying – when we see any of our values mentioned above at risk, we provide resources, wisdom and advice to help you and your church speak to the NI Assembly and UK Governments with grace and truth.
Training – our Leadership Programme takes a small number of Scottish graduates from churches and places them with MLAs/NGOs to prepare them to be first class policy makers.
Resourcing – we are helping churches to frame the political issues of the day in a biblical and prayerful manner. We offer churches support and materials to navigate election time in a Christianly effective way that enriches their communities.
