Statement of Faith

Our mission is: to declare Christian truth and demonstrate Christ’s compassion in society.

Our goals are to:

Promote Christian action, research and education to support children, single people, marriage and family life effectively.

Encourage Christians to pray for society and to recognise the dignity and worth of every individual person from fertilisation to life’s natural end.

Assist Christians to understand social and moral issues in public policy, education and the community.

Challenge Christians to become actively involved in the democratic process, to be effective salt and light where there is a need for truth and justice.

Equip Christians to show the love of Christ in their communities through practical caring.

CARE’s doctrinal basis

The following is an extract from the CARE constitution document:

The following doctrines are regarded by the Society as crucial to the understanding of the Christian faith and its out-workings:

  1. The sovereignty and grace of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, in creation, providence, revelation, redemption and final judgement.
  2. The divine inspiration of Holy Scripture and its consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  3. The universal sinfulness and guilt of fallen man, making him subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
  4. The substitutionary sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God as the sole and all sufficient ground of redemption from the guilt and power of sin and its consequences.
  5. The justification of the sinner solely by the grace of God, through faith in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.
  6. The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling, sanctifying and empowering work of God the Holy Spirit.
  7. The priesthood of all believers, who form the universal Church, the Body of which Christ is the Head and which is committed by His command to the proclamation of the Gospel throughout all the world.
  8. The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory.

Culture
& society reflecting a better story for everyone.

At the heart of all of CARE’s work is our determination to uphold the truth that human beings made in God’s image are immensely valuable and deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion.

We want to show a better story for our culture and society, and we want to be part of shaping that in structures that we are given as citizens in the UK…
