Nola Leach, CARE’s Chief Executive, joined leading anti-trafficking businesses and charities by calling on the Government to support the Modern Slavery (Victim Support) Bill.
In a letter published in the Guardian we highlighted how victims of modern slavery are being let down by a lack of adequate support and are at serious risk of being re-trafficked. We urged the Government to increase the period of guaranteed support from 45 days to a full 12 months for confirmed victims of trafficking, as proposed by the Bill.
Now is a crucial time for the Bill and without the Government’s support it will be very difficult for it to become law.
Please would you join us to press this message home by emailing your MP about this letter in the press and asking them to call on the Government to take action.
