CARE echoes report call for Child Trafficking Guardians
Human TraffickingPRESS RELEASE - New research published today by The Children’s Society and the Refugee Council argues for the introduction of a guardianship system to support trafficked children.
CARE’s Chief Executive Nola Leach welcomed the findings of the Still at Risk report:
“This significant report reveals a serious lack of understanding within our care system of the needs of trafficked children. These vulnerable victims of abuse should receive the best support and care so that in safety they can recover fully from the horrendous abuse they have suffered.
We will continue to call on the Government to create a system of child trafficking guardians and will be supporting Lord McColl as he continues to raise this issue in Parliament over the coming months.”
