CARE's UK Director Gareth Davies speak to BBC Radio Derby about the Remote Gambling Association's decision to ban betting adverts around live sporting events. The Remote Gambling Association (RGA) which includes major gambling firms like Paddy Power, Bet365 and Ladbrokes struck the deal just recently.
This is a much-welcomed move as the latest statistics show that the UK has 450,000 problem gamblers and in just two years the number of child problems gamblers has quadrupled to 55,000.
It's clear that more needs to be done to tackle problem gambling in the UK, but this is a promising first step in the right direction.
