Ross Hendry - Chief Executive Officer

Ross took over as CEO of CARE in November 2021. Prior to joining the team, he was CEO of Spurgeons, one of the UK's largest children's charities. He has also served as Deputy CEO at the office for the Children's Commissioner in England and as Head of Public Policy at Action for Children. In 2005, he stood as a Parliamentary candidate for the Labour Party.

James Mildred - Director of Communications and Engagement

James Mildred is CARE’s Director of Communications and Engagement and has been in the role since April 2021. Prior to this, he was CARE's Head of Communications and previously worked as the Press Officer at CARE, before doing some church training at Grace Church, Yate. James leads the Communications Team at CARE, overseeing press and media engagement, social media, websites, campaigns and often represents CARE in the media.

Louise Davies - Director of Advocacy and Policy

Louise Davies has been CARE's Director of Advocacy and Policy since September 2022. She previously worked as the Director of Christians on the Left and as a caseworker for a Shadow Minister. Louise leads the Policy and Public Affairs Team at CARE, producing briefings and legislation, assisting Parliamentarians to prepare for debates, and creating campaigns to tell a better story.

Philippa Taylor - Director of the Institute for Faith and Culture

Philippa joined CARE in 2019 and heads up our highly respected Leadership Programme and our Institute for Faith and Culture. Working closely with the graduates on each programme, Philippa also connects with the more than 300 alumni of the programme. She was previously Head of Public Policy at the Christian Medical Fellowship.

Rev Lyndon and Celia Bowring

Rev Lyndon Bowring serves as CARE's Chairman. He helped co-found CARE in 1983. He is an ordained Elim minister and has been involved in many Christian initiatives over the years, on Boards and Advisory Councils, networking with other leaders and speaking at events such as Spring Harvest and Keswick.

Celia is our Prayer Coordinator and author of the highly regarded CARE Prayer Diary. She has written hosts of articles and resources for CARE and recently wrote a book, Turning the Tide? which documents the history of CARE.

Trustees

John O’Brien has served as Chairman of CARE’s Trustees since 1996. He is the chief executive of Astons Transport Ltd. John has also chaired the trustees of Care for the Family for more than 10 years, led the trustee boards of St Martin-in-the-fields Ltd and Westminster Abbey Foundation and became chairman at Action for Children in 2012.
