Down’s syndrome and abortion

At the moment, the current abortion law in the UK has allowed for abortion to birth if the baby is suspected of having Down's syndrome.

Heidi Crowter, a campaigner with Down's syndrome, has challenged this aspect of the abortion law through the courts with a decision expected later this week.

During the recent Paralympics, CARE highlighted on social media the achievements of athletes with disabilities to help dispel myths and push back on discrimination.

Watch Heidi discuss her case on Channel 5 News.
